Welcome Franklin Families!
I am delighted to be appointed as the new principal of Franklin Elementary. It is an honor to serve such a great school and community. I am looking forward to continuing the great start of the school year.
Many of you know me as a long-time Franklin parent and school-site council member. I’ve been an educator for nearly 20 years, and I am joining Franklin from Mira Mesa High School, where I have served as an Associate Principal since 2021. Some of you may recognize me as the administrator at Normal Heights Elementary during the 2022 and 2023 summer programming sessions. It has been such a joy to get to know your students over the years; I cannot wait to see them every day at school and I am looking forward to meeting new families and students, as well.
I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Franklin families, teachers, and staff in this new capacity. I love the incredible diversity that exists at our school and am eager to continue the work alongside each of you as we strive to make Franklin a stand-out school for our community. Together, we will work to keep Franklin’s STEAM focus a priority with support from our community groups and families. Great work is happening at Franklin and I am excited to continue it with all of you!
I value relationships and collaboration with all educational partners. We will continue our strong tradition of providing an education that is engaging, challenging, and meaningful. This will require that we all lead and work together to continue to move our school forward. We are committed to meeting the academic and social requirements that our students need to be successful in school and that help them love to be here learning. We are a team in your child’s education.
I look forward to meeting the families of our students and plan to schedule parent meetings soon. Please never hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, feedback, or concerns. I am thrilled to be a Franklin Flyer!
Sincerely,
Heather Bice
